4 SEASONS FOR TRAINING
There’s a business guru named Gary Vaynerchuk who’s claim to fame is his unstoppable HUSTLE mentality.
I’m working while you’re sleeping.
-Gary Vaynerchuk
As a younger trainer and business owner, I worshipped Gary V.
I bought all his books; listened to everything he had to say; even started watching his WineLibrary TV Show.
Gary epitomized the blue collar entrepreneur mentality.
But isn’t hustling for the sake of hustling counterproductive?
Destroy the idea that you need to be constantly hustling or grinding to be successful.
Embrace the concept that rest, recovery, and reflection are essential parts of the progress towards a successful and ultimately a happier life.
This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t put in the effort.
On the contrary, actually…
Being in Alignment means that you put in the effort on the things that will be the most impactful towards getting you towards your goals.
Good Work. Productive Work.
There’s nothing wrong with hard work.
Listen, I get it.
When I was a personal trainer in Toronto with 4 going on 5 kids I used to get up at 4am to get 30 minutes of writing in to grow my business before I trained my first client at 6am.
I’d be out of the house some days for more than 12 hours.
Did I need to be?
At the time, yes… because I was supporting my family.
But when my side business started to gain traction and momentum and I noticed that the more focused work I put into my side business was getting me a better rate of return than I was getting on personal training one-on-one, I shifted my focus.
The result was more time for my family; more time for doing things that I love; more time
